With Purpose
Collaborative Pod 3 is where young people begin to tackle more sophisticated academic work and long-term projects. With an emphasis on research, critical thinking, and public speaking, CP3 helps learners deepen their understanding of complex concepts while building confidence in sharing their ideas. The program balances guided instruction with increasing independence, preparing youth for the greater challenges of CP4 and beyond.
CP3 Program Highlights
✓ Hands-on, cross-disciplinary learning in math, science, art, humanities, and social studies.
✓ Balanced Facilitator- and youth-led learning pathways, encouraging inquiry and independence.
✓ Process Consciousness emphasized through research, experimentation, writing, and collaborative work.
✓ Daily outdoor exploration, fostering curiosity, movement, and a deep connection to the natural world.
✓ Collaborative, socially aware community environment, emphasizing communication, debate, civic responsibility, and perspective-taking.
✓ Independent Science Projects—choosing a research question, running experiments, collecting data, and presenting findings.
✓ Fall concept exploration to support informed scientific inquiry and project design.
✓ Formal presentations—first-year youth present to peers; second-year youth present to the broader CA community.

Deep Dives 1
CP3 youth are eligible for Deep Dives 1, an optional full-day Wednesday program for ages 9–14 (broken into smaller clusters of 9-11, and 12-14). Deep Dives offer immersive, project-based explorations in science, history, and the arts, encouraging deeper research and experimentation.
