Natures Palette: An Immersion in Art & Nature invites young artists to explore the natural world as both inspiration and medium for creative expression. Throughout the week, campers are encouraged to slow down, observe closely, and translate their discoveries into thoughtful and expressive works of art.
Each day intentionally weaves together hands-on artmaking and guided nature exploration, fostering curiosity, creativity, and confidence. Campers engage with a wide range of materials—both traditional art supplies and natural elements —while experimenting with color, texture, and form. Camp Cupola emphasizes process over product, supporting creative risk-taking and the development of individual artistic voice.
Campers are thoughtfully organized into small, age-based groups to ensure activities are developmentally appropriate. This structure allows our youngest campers to feel safe and supported while providing older campers with opportunities to engage in more complex challenges that encourage growth and expand their creative horizons.
Time spent outdoors on Cupola’s expansive 10-acre campus serves as the ideal natural landscape to spark curiosity and ignite each camper’s creative juices. From guided nature walks and focused observation to sensory-based activities, each endeavor will help campers identify patterns, shapes, and colors within their environment. These experiences serve as the foundation for drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, and collaborative art projects.
The week concludes with a gallery-style showcase, offering campers the opportunity to share selected works and reflect on their creative process—building communication skills, confidence, and a strong sense of accomplishment.
Nature’s Palette offers a thoughtful and welcoming environment, ideal for young creatives who thrive when artistic exploration and the natural world intersect.
